Lawyers play a very important role in the society. This profession helps establishing a good conscience in the country.

The basic requirement is to have passed a four-year undergraduate degree. The subjects include – political science, history, philosophy, sociology and few others. You also need to pass the Law School Admission Test that you can take during your junior or senior years.
Along with your application, you have to submit an essay that will help the school authorities assess your attitude and dedication towards the profession of law. You must score a high GPA – at least a 3.0.
Financial Requirement –
The fee, course materials and everything involved in the education costs a high amount of money. You will find that most of the law schools charge $20,000 annually in the fees. This amount can be much higher in the private schools. And, the money for books and other things is separate.
Now, you must be thinking that will you ever be able to become a lawyer considering this much of money required to complete this qualification?

Equal Justice Work’s fellowship - This law school grant is awarded to fifty students every year. The eligible criteria of these law school grants require the students to work for the undeserved communities.
Elaine Osborne Jacobsen Award – This group awards grants for law school to women only. It helps women who are either existing advocates or are pursuing law. The main condition is that they should be in the health care segment of the law.
Warner Norcross and Judd LLP Scholarship – This organization awards between $1,000 and $5,000 every year to 3 law students of the minority groups.
Alliance Defense Fund – This law school grant helps the law students with an amount of $2,500 with no regard to their race or ethnic background.
Straight Forward Media Scholarships – This group awards $500 in the form of grants for law school four times a year.
Puerto Rican Bar Association – This organization gives $2000 in the law school grants every year to the Hispanic law students.
There are also some law companies that offer law school grant to the students with a condition that they will work for them for a period of time after getting their law degree.
The Washington College of Law, the Columbia School of Law and the American Bar Association are some other foundation that offer grants for law school.
There are also some low-interest loans offer by the state – the Federal Perkins, the Federal Stafford and the Graduate PLUS etc. So, apply for them if you can afford to pay their low interest.
So, there are many options for the law school grants. Many students do not apply for the law school grants as they are not sure about the approval of their application. But, how you can decide that you will not get any grant without applying for it?
